Forum Rules and Guidelines

 Not following the rules and guidelines listed here will be grounds for banishment from the AVA Message Forum and possibly all other postable services linked on the AVA Website.

HR3402- On January 5th, 2006, President Bush signed the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization  Act of 2005, which includes a clause on "cyber stalking". This amends existing telephone harassment laws and extends them to the internet, which among other things includes this statement: "Whoever...utilizes any device or software that can be used to originate telecommunications or other types of communications that are transmitted, in whole or in part, by the Internet... without disclosing their identity and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person...who receives the communications...shall be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

  1. This forum is for motorcycle related discussion in general and for any brand touring models in particular. Posts that are too far off subject may be removed.

  2. Registrations that appear to be Spam, or contain information such as apparently overly contrived usernames or real names etc. (example- fyfyfyfyf), or for whatever reason deemed by the Forum admin to be likely Spam or otherwise, may cause the account to be deleted. If you feel your registration was incorrectly identified and deleted, contact the AVA Webmaster to explain before re-registering.

  3. This forum is NOT for discussion of AVA financial business, or for contacting any AVA Board of Directors regarding specific AVA business items. General AVA discussion is permitted. Should you wish to contact any of the Board Members, please do so through the "Contacting Us" page of the AVA website, as most Board Members may not view this board on a regular basis.

  4. No commercial ads or spamming. If you have a commercial product or service, whether produced at an in home situation or a commercial business, please submit your product/service information to the AVA Webmaster   for consideration on the Dollar4Dollar page, or other suitable location. Informational commercial ads must first acquire specific permission by AVA Webmaster before posting.

  5. No flaming, rude, obscene, name calling, swearing, personal attacks, or the use of other objectionable or offensive language will be allowed. No trolling. Trolling is posting inaccurate or information or comments solely for the purpose of aggravating other members.

  6. Recommendations of products or services is permitted in the true spirit of a recommendation.

  7. Do not post classified ad style posts on the message forum, please post these items in the AVA Classified Ads section (link to Classified Ads near top of any forum page grouped with other links). Classified Ads will be deleted in the forum within a very short time. Reposted ads will be deleted as soon as discovered.

  8. Do not post events for your Chapter, or other events on the message forum. Please post any events on the AVA Motorcycle Events Calendar.  Event posting for Chapters are to be submitted by the Chapter's person in charge of posting their Chapter's events. Otherwise, You may post anyone's else's event on the calendar if you have the correct information including contact info, IF it already has not been posted.

  9. Images related to the discussion are permissible in the message body. Instructions on how to do this are linked in each forum, near the top of the topics list. There is a size limit of a maximum of 640 x 640 pixels. Do not post images that have no relation to the poster or subject at hand.

  10. Use descriptive subject lines to help others decide if they would like to view your message, and make it easier and more accurate for search results.

  11. Do not make inflammatory, rude, or otherwise impolite posts with the intention of "stirring the pot". This will include but not limited to any material which is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually oriented, invading other peoples privacy or violating any laws. Please be polite and respect others views. This is a family orientated forum.

  12. Do not circumvent the word sensor on the forum. Some words are not allowed to keep this a family oriented forum. Repeated word sensor circumvention may lead to banishment.

  13. No pornographic, sexually explicit, sexually offensive or like objectionable material. This includes images, language, graphics, or text.

  14. No posting of links to pornographic or other objectionable websites, documents, or other viewable material. Links to other sites or items must be suitable for family viewing.

  15. Do not post others personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, or email addresses. Posting of others email addresses or phone numbers is permitted only if their email address or phone number is otherwise generally available such as commercial entities.

  16. Do not post duplicate messages. Even though there are several forums, posts not read by someone logging in will always be marked as a new post, regardless of forum being posted in, making duplicate posts unnecessary. You may "bump" your message to the top after at least two days to bring renewed attention to it. Do not "bump" messages more than three (3) times.

  17. Posting your own information is at your own risk.

  18. Decisions of the Forum Admin regarding the use of this forum are final.


Repeated offenses , whether intentional or not, will result in banishment.
Circumvention of banishment will lead to additional banishment of last used address, and could lead to banishment from viewing as well as posting on message forum. These measures will not be limited to technical adherence but also following the intent of these rules and guidelines. These rules and guidelines may be changed or modified at anytime as required.
