Hey Folks,

I've been working on this bike for about two years. While I've still got a ways to go, I did manage to ride it recently.

Notice anything Unusual? How about in this shot?

This is why I did it.

Well that sure is different. Does the cooling fan come on more often?

That 6 cylinder engine is purty. :-)

I suggest you lose the fairing all together and make it a naked street fighter.

It looks good.

David,
Those are the same things I was thinking. I would probably remove the fairing and put on a set of Buell dual headlights and aftermarket analog gauges.

That's one Beautiful 13!! Rusty (My 1300) is jealous!! Where did you get the radiator? Did you consider putting it underneath (with a skid plate) and raising the suspension? That is a beautiful mod job, kudos to you!!

Thanks Guys,

The fairing will probably go once I assemble the parts for a headlight and some new instrumentation. That radiator is the stock unit which I plan to replace with one that is taller and a bit narrower. So far the cooling fan cycles normally but I'm planning to add a booster pump as soon as I can find one that doesn't weight five pounds and make a bunch of noise while running.

Bill

have you seen the 1300 streetfighter on ebay? He even tells you that the seat is "professionally" duct taped !!

I'm pretty sure that's the same bike that was on ebay.
It's possible the one he's selling now for $1500 is your bike and he just hasn't pulled it off the list.Or did you buy the $800 one

yeah i bought the one for 1500. he pulled it off of craigslist but he still has it listed on his 65 bikes for sale page. im almost done restoring it.

so far i have repainted the whole frame and all the brackets, made a custom rear inner fender using sheet aluminum and my tig welder, removed all extra wiring from the radio air susp dash and such , pulled the valve cover off check out the water pump gears and such they all looked perfect. still going to do the cct upgrade. new plugs changed the engine and gear oil. brake fluid is next, i cut all the brackets off the top of the gas tank cuz they looked horrible, made a custom lisc plate braket though its kinda flimsy i might make another one to tuck it in twards the swingarm some more, and i tapped the black wire for the cooling fan temp sender into the yellow wire for the turn signal cancel switchand tapped the brown into a ground , then put the relay onto a ign switch lead so it doesnt get left on , and most important cover the seat with something anything even a paper bag would look better . ohh and i ordered a cateye tail light off ebay.

i still need to paint the tank and side plastics. change the fuel filter, get a new headlight (hopefully a hid bulb) and some short stalk turn signals , make new handle bars the kinks from bending the stockers straight bothers me , make a small dash to hold a tach water temp and speedo , and find some schreader valves for the air susp so i can just fill it with a normal air chuck for a tire, sync the throttle bodies and check the valve shims.

i just ran across the kz the has the extended swingarm and corvette rim on it i really like how that looks im gonna try to get the extra parts to do that. it looks pretty easy

my friends all want me to put twin 16g turbos on it but i dont want to spend the time or money on a mega squirt setup so i think im just going to put a 35 shot on it after i buy an adjustable fpr

my funds are limited at this point i have a car that i still need to spend quite a bit more on to get it where i want it . so far to date i might have $100 invested in it.

i could post some pics up of my progress if anyone is interested.

Is that the stock tank?
Where did you find the 6into 1s?
Is there any room under the seat for a radiator?
The batter is there as are some other electrics I am sure.
What does the top and gauges look like?
I almost had a 1300 loaded up and was going to bring it home, I backed out at the last minute. To bad, but I lost my job a week latter, had to pay off my XII. I want to do something with a six! I just need a job.
