American Voyager Association

The Idaho Chapter of AVA, the Gem State Voyagers, challenges all other chapters to a "See the USA With the AVA" point challenge.

Object: be the AVA chapter with the most accumulated points in this passport program by the end of December 2010.

Our chapter members are already working on accumulating their points... meetings, points of interest, museums, state parks, state lines, etc. Easy pickin's!

We're confident we'll be the winners!

What about those of us without a chapter affiliation? We haven't seen a regional chapter for us south central folks get going yet, though it looks like one is in the works.

Sounds good JD. Would you take a member from WI? I may be able to help you all get started.

I think Phill has something in the works though I haven't heard too much at this point. Though pulling in a member from Wisconsin? I don't see why not!

Sounds good Duane...When we ran programs like this ('96-'08), we published running totals, in monthly newsletters, that listed all of the other AVA Chapters that were participating. It listed their current total points. The information encouraged competition and increased participation. We even had a catagory for riders who were not members of a Chapter...called it "Independant Riders".

I think Phil Griggs was working on: O M A K Voyagers (OK, MO, AR, KS)! You could try "MAKO" - sounds like a mean shark that way! <land shark!>

Well, since there's already a Missouri/Kansas Regional Chapter (Based out of the KC area I think) I figured we'd go for the Arkansas/Oklahoma angle. But, Hey! Teaming up with them? I'm all for that too!

Trust me, I happen to know..Arkansas-Oklahoma or would work for you all...get with the AVA for contact info on current or past members from both states.

Shoot, if I snubbed all my friends that don't ride Voyagers I would be a friendless man indeed! I might as well ride a Harley if I were going that route.

I've seen Vulcan Voyagers. Venture Voyagers sounds good too. There are probably more gold wings is the AVA than Voyagers so Gold Wing Voyagers has a nice ring. As Carl Marks might say, "Voyagers of the world unite".

Looks like the WBV, Wisconsin Badgerland Voyagers (me and Dion) and the UCG, AVA Unaffilliated Chapter Group (Phill, JD, David) have taken up the challenge so far, according to the guys who have posted. I'll bet there are other participants....maybe call them "Ghost Riders"
