OEM shop manual

Post by Danger4u2 »

Some of you have graciously supplied PDF files of the OEM shop manual and I certainly appreciate that.
And that's great for going over problems with our bike in the comfort of the home or office.
I like having a hard copy in the shop and with my bigger bikes that have stowage I carry them with me on out of town trips.
Do I carry the tools to do major repairs? No. But you might have a problem and end up with a kind soul letting you use his shop.
I bought a set this morning in great condition. He has another set, here's a link if anyone has interest.

You could have downloaded and printed right off this site or the link attached to my signature for free. I went through a lot meticulously cleaning up and maximizing the quality of each page. I paid $20 for a manual some years ago.

Yes ,you can sit in your favorite spot and find every little detail about these bikes and then print out what you need .As the proud owner of a 1300 I do this a lot.
But somehow holding that book in your hand is a powerful tool and a security blanket rolled into one and $22.50 is not a bad price for that.

I paid $31 for a pristine 2 book set. Free shipping.
Don't get me wrong I am very thankful for all and anyone
that supplied the PDF files. I could have printed it at work
but $31 bucks for the 2 books...money well spent IMO.

Charlie O'Neal the guy I am getting his Voyager XII up and running had printed out the entire manual and put it in a binder. I have been using his because his copy also includes the updated inserts on the cruise control. I found it in the saddle bag.

My manuals came in yesterday, as advertised, near new.
Fast shipping, well packaged. Checked the positive feedback.
They won't take up much room on the bike, I just like having them
with me when I'm out on the road. Might attempt an IBA ride tomorrow.
Not many riders have January IBA rides.

I was fortunate that one of my bikes came with all the service manuals. I love to have a hard copy to sit down and study. However I also have the electronic versions on my smartphone. I find that I use the electronic version more. If I have a question pop in my head I can look it up no matter where I am. If I am waiting somewhere and need to kill some time, I can look up how to do the next repair on my list. I also like being able to print just the section I need. Can take it to the shop with no worry about getting greasy finger prints on it! :hpdc:
