Mardi Gras in the rain

Post by Mr Jensee »

Mardi Gras is going on in southwest Louisiana and it is raining. Rain is planned throughout the entire next week. Weather is warm but who wants to party in the rain. It has to be raining havoc on the parades. I haven't attended any parades since my grand kids were little. We attended parades even when it was freezing cold. When they were little catching beads and trinkets was fun for them. I think the excitement of the floats and the smiles it brought was fun for all of us. Now in my waning years not so much.

Couldn't agree more Michael. The Association of Combat Veterans I belong to were supposed to ride in a Lake 'Charles parade and we canceled. Riding slow, throwing beads, and watching out for kids is bad enough but doing it in pouring rain is just not worth it. Maybe next year.
