Well, last year I sold my 2000 Voyager XII and bought a 2008 Victory Kingpin. I put 8,000 trouble-free miles on that Kingpin and loved every second of it. The only thing I missed was bags and a radio.

Then Victory introduced the Cross Country. It's their version of the Street Glide - huge hard bags and a fork-mounted faring with a radio. I was very intrigued. A local Mass dealer got in a demo unit so I took it for a ride... and loved it! I was able to do figure 8's in the parking lot. Great off the line (106 ci). It handled like a dream.

If you're looking for a "touring" big V-twin, you should check this bike out. I hear a trunk is in the near future but quite honestly, with these huge hard bags, who needs it?

So I traded in my Kingpin and bought a 2010 Midnight Cherry Cross Country. Now I can't wait until spring. :-D

BTW, my old XII has a trike kit on it and the current owners (my in-laws) have put a bunch of miles on it. They love it, just like I did and just like my Dad (the original owner) did.

Kevin

I read reviews on both the Cross Tour and the Cross Country this weekend. While both reviews were positive overall, the author gave negative marks for the clunkiness of the transmission. He also said that if the rider got on the throttle really hard, the bike should have performed better than it did. (My paraphrase--both bikes). Very nicely styled bikes, though. There was a 2010 red/black VV 1700 new to the showroom floor at my local dealer today. I prefer the stylings of the Victory bikes.
