Rally Route Bridge Closure

Post by the2knights »

Just wanted to let everyone know, for those of you coming in from the North to the Rally, do not plan on riding highway 135 between Morgantown and Nashville. If you are catch highway 252 with plans of going South on 135 you will run into a road closure due to a bridge being refurbished. This does not really have to many effects of rides available at the Rally, but 135 is a pretty ride in and was hoping to save someone a long detour route.

Had figured to do 135 from Indy. What's the best route around from there?

The best route from the South side of the 465 loop from Indianapolis is I-65 South to Highway 46 West. I recommend that over 37 South due to construction between Martinsville and Bloomington. 37 is being converted from a highway to an interstate. During off peak times is not bad, but always try to avoid long trips through orange barrels that stretch for miles.

Is there any way to get into the park without going through that covered bridge? IF I clear the sign, it will only be by about 2-3 inches!

Yes, on highway 46 leaving Nashville towards Bloomington is the West entrance. It is 4 miles Southwest from the main entrance road.

Ah! I see it, west gate entrance road! Didn't see that on Google earth at first!

Thanks all for the info, didn't think my trailer would fit under that covered bridge without removing pieces off the top.

C U all next Monday!
