Preparing for the "TRUE X"

Post by w4swk »

During the last two summers, Sharlene and I have ridden the SC-MA 4 Corners Tour. Summer before last we did it on Burgman 650 scooters and last year it was on Honda Shadow's (VT750). This year we have decided to do the "TRUE X" (4 Corners with a crossing in Lebanon, KS...twice.)

We have decided to do this years ride on the Voyager XII (1200). I have owned Kawasaki over the years and have never had any problems. After an exhaustive search, we located a perfect 1991 in Ocala, Fl. and another Immaculate 2001 in Knoxville, Tn. We took possession of the 91 last Saturday and the 01 today...at the moment we are sitting in our motor home in the Home Depot parking lot in Dalton Ga. The bike is on the trailer (Sharlene has already laid claims on it!) Hopefully, we will be at our winter home in Ga. tomorrow.

We are planning to head out this June and will be beginning at the San Ysidro, Ca. checkpoint. We blog our rides and invite Ya'll (Texas lingo) to follow.

Sounds like a great ride. I'd like to run it sometime. Have fun on the Voyagers!

We are getting anxious! Preliminary ride plan looks like this:

San Ysidro, Ca. to Lebanon, Ks.
Lebanon, Ks. to Key West, Fl.
Key West, Fl. to Blaine, Wa.
Blaine, Wa. back to Lebanon, Ks.
Lebanon, Ks. to Madawaska. Me.

10, 489 miles...SC-MA allows us 26 days to do this...Piece of cake!!

Hope those bikes have comfortable aftermarket seats. I guess for many the stock seat is fine, but i found they were 2-4hr seats unless I rode with 2 pads. Bought a Corbin last summer and now i can go all day (10 to 12 hrs). roll
Wish I could make a trip like that, maybe later.
Enjoy,
Ken

Hi Ken
We did the 4 Corner USA Tour during the last two summers. Compared to what we rode on last year, it would be LUXURY if we had to sit on the frame of the Voyager!!!
