Heated Grips

Post by bearclaw »

Looking to add heated grips to my 2012 Voyager. Can anybody recommend some grips? And, are they fairly easy to install, or is it best to let the dealer install them? Thanks.

There are two types of head grips. One is the actual heated grips these have all wiring pre molded in the Grip, Two is heating element kit. I like soft open cell foam grips. So I used two; the heating element Kit.

The heating element kit that you apply to the handle bars on the left and the throttle barrel on the right side. You then install your new grips over the element. My element kit cost $40.00 and my grips cost $30.00.

Installation isn't complex but will take time.

In the December Cycle Gear catalog, they have Trackside Deluxe heated grips $39.99 or Trackside Grip Heater aka the heating elements (which I use) $22.49.

these are very good prices.

I use the Oxford Heaterz cruiser heated grips. Work great and rarely put the temp higher than halfway.

I have the Avon heated grips on my Voyager. Very comfortable and nice and toasty!
