This person removed fairing, bags and trunk and made this into a cafe racer.
Seems to be food for thought, something to do with a 1300 or even 1200 XII salvage bike that has a good engine and drive train.

and they can be bought for hardly any money !... even if you are "half way" handy with the mechanical end of it, you can turn a cheap project into a fun bike to ride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
