Two NorCal Voyagers Club members have had this done. I've made an appointment with Ivan for Sept 9 in his shop. I can't wait

Don, have you had a chance to ride home after the flash? Did it make a difference?

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
I rode up to Ivan's on Friday morning and had the ECU re-flashed. And boy what a difference. I've ridden 800 miles so far and the worst MPG is 42 at 72 mph. With three tanks at 44.7 mpg.
You'll read more about it in the next issue of the Voyagers Voice.

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
I have been Ivanized!!
Just got back from picking up the bike at the motorcycle spa (yes I called it that, It makes me feel better about leaving my bike there for a week). The first thing I noticed was the throttle response, it was much better, while I didn't really get too radical you definitely should hold on when you get into it. Also much better on the interstate while passing. The temperature difference was noticeable also, Before the upgrade the temp gauge would hover close to the red area on the gauge, now it is just above half way on the gauge, It was 85 degrees out on the way back. At lower speeds the bike seemed smoother at lower rpms, before the bike would kind of shake at lower rpms and was hard to keep a steady speed when you were at 65 before you had a choice of running the rpms at around 3200 rpms or jump up a gear and run at lower 2000 or speed up to 70 to get the bike purring. Now the bike will run fine at a lower rpm. Hard to explain but it just seems smoother through the gears and different speeds. Didn't notice any of the back popping when decelerating. As far as gas mileage I'm not sure of the difference yet, It was only a 40 mile ride from the "spa". One thing I did notice is that when I'm doing 80 to 85 on the interstate the mpg on the so called mpg gauge would go down but today coming back it actually went up going against the wind and playing with the acceleration (just to see how quick I could pass a vehicle from 80 mph). Needless to say I am quite happy with the results and find it well worth the money. My bike has stock pipes and intake and no other upgrades. If it stops raining around here or the snow doesn't start to fly I may get a good ride in and see if there is anything else I could add.

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
I have about 7K miles on my 2013 since Ivan's reflash and want to share some of my observations. I'm currently getting 43mpg down from over 50mpg this last Summer on the trip to Taos and back to Washington.Mileage always seems to drop with temperatures and altitude. The power (torque), is an improvement over the PC5 that I had installed along with a dyno tune. The backfire also went away as well. Throttle response is spot on with no hesitation or what I can best describe as "herky jerky". Parking lots aren't the chamber of horrors they used to be...V'ger maneuvers like a dream. I highly recommend turning over your ECU to Ivan's.

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
Well I decided to send my ECU out today and have it flashed, I hope it all works out. Called out to Ivans this am and was told to put it in mail no questions asked, so hope it works out I have a CSC trike kit on her and want some more performance and a cooler running machine. ECU is to be there Thur. so now the wait is on lol really no wait as we just got dumped with 10" of snow, pretty bummed last wk got her out of storage and rode in 65 degree weather and now 28 degrees out, welcome to Iowa lol.

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
You'll not regret it. Last summer I rode with a NorCal member that had his Voyager 1700 ECU reflashed. He has a Champion Trike kit. and the power and mileage improved. You'll be very happy

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
That NorCal member would be me, I ride a 1700 with the Champion trike kit, always 2 up. and I tell you, coming over the mountains last June on the way to Hurley was the best ride I have ever had on this trike. Also, the MPG improved overall coming and going, and then again on a tour of California later on last summer.
As Don states, it is well worth the $$, you won't be disappointed. Order a new seat belt. You'll need it when starting off!

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
I can t wait lol looking forward to having a better running machine, I think with the trike kit its a dog and no guts. I had a 2010 VV and ran 48mpg with it all the time then went to a trike and about stroked as to about 32-33 to best 35 mpg what a shock makes you plan your trip to get gas lol, I would give up the trike tho as for us its the way to go. Its okay that its out for a good wk as still have snow here and wont be able to ride. just ordered a K&N air filter for it as well. Next hurdle will be finding 91 gas, will be getting some Liquid Horsepower booster to keep with to add to gas.

Hi,
I have a question. Do you need a power commander or something similar after you get the ECU flashed by Ivan?
Just wondering.

... go look at the site, IIRC, no, and you don't need to do any expensive mods,
again, IIRC, and I'm not really an interested party, just heard many good
things about the "flash"!

Re: Ivan's ECU Flash - saw this on VROC
NO, but you do always have to use 91 or higher octane fuel. During the re-flash they advance the ignition timing.
