CBX coil in ZN1300

Post by samchar12 »

Will a coil from a Honda CBX 750 work in a Voyager ZN1300? They look the same and the CBX are a bit cheaper.

Thoughts?

You can't go by looks. The coils are impedance matched to the electrical system driving them. You need to start by comparing the static resistance of the OEM coils to the resistance of the coils you want to use.

From what I found the CBX coils are 2.5 ohm Primary and 13.85 ohm secondary. Isn't that where the ZN1300 should be?
