trailer wanted

Post by bobberwi »

Hi Y'all,

I am looking for a pull-behind trailer to carry /haul my Voyager. I would need a trailer that would permit one person loading/unloading... possibly a tilt-bed style. I can get a simple 8' tilt-bed trailer (new) from a local Farm and Fleet store, but it is a bit pricey. I would be using the trailer only a couple times each year so I don't need a "tricked-out" model.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a low cost trailer source...or have one the want to sell?

Thanks,
Bob Michaels

Hi Dion,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have also posted on Craig's list and ABikeboard.

Harbor Freight makes a trailer that handles 1700 lbs and might cost $300 to $400 depending on how you finish it out.

A ramp, or ramp gate is better than a tilt trailer for handling the bike IMO.

I bought an H&H trailer for hauling our dirt bikes and other things. It has an expanded metal ramp/gate combo and it makes if very easy to load and unload motorcycles. I have used it for the Voyager to Tennessee to visit Doctor Carl Leo and it was a simple load by myself.

I have seen Harbor Freight Trailers, and would not put anything I own on one and trust it to go down the highway safely. I would have to replace bolts and reweld or add tubing before I would use one. That is just my opinion.
Swim, bike, run; sounds like fun!!!!
