Yamaha Niken GT

Post by HMB Don »

Welcome to the future. Engine is 3 cylinder, 4 fork tubes, ABS, just a whole bunch of stuff. I did get to sit on it and it felt very normal, moving from side to side felt like any other motorcycle.

My big question with this technology is , is there any advantage to it on really heavy bikes like ours. Bigger contact patch but does it provide better actual traction with less total weight on each patch, not to mention the shifting weight from side to side as a turn progresses. The Niken it also not a trike as it will absolutely fall over. I guess it's a moot point as much like Yamahas RADD Steering of the 1990s it's already out of production I think.
