Once I get this coil out I will test it tomorrow.


Hoping my ignitor isn't fried... heard those are $800.

The coils work with spark plug pairs and 3&4 are one of the pairs so either the coil's not working or the input to the coil is not working. Removing that coil is a challenge but not too tough - in case you haven't figured it out yet, it only come out one side (can't remember off the top of my head which side). The biggest challenge is actually getting the input wires connected when you put the coil back in. But, do you really need to remove it? -you can do the static tests: input and output resistance, and primary/secondary continuity (there shouldn't be any) without removing it.

Remove the fuel tank and fairing. It’s easy and takes about 10 minutes. It will give you enough working space. Like Van Voyager said, it’s probably a bad coil.
