The XII is back on the road

Post by Tuna Man 62 »

After a long hiatus, my girl is able to get out on the road. I had a neutral sensor glitch, and I found a shop that works on aged bikes, so in she went. Eugene at ESA Cycles in Beaufort, NC is great! Along with the sensor (broken wire like Triton28 thought), he did the carbs work (gummed up from storage in MI) with replacing gaskets, and the front forks oil & seals. I really didn't trust my capabilities for any of that. Now she runs great thanks to Eugene! I had hoped to attend the rally and meet some fellow riders, but alas, maybe next year.

Congrats! When you find a trustworthy mechanic for these old machines, hang on to them! When properly tuned up, these old bikes are a blast on the road. They will eat up the highway miles without complaints -- my posterior is another matter entirely... Once you get your bike dialed in, you can really enjoy the ride. Cheers!
