There's not a best one. Although, whatever you pick could be considered as the best, I suppose. As long as you're happy with whatever you get, that's all that matters.
I had the left side highway peg fall off of my Vn750 during the last 5 miles of a 502 mile run a few weeks back. Didn't notice until I got it in the garage. So, when I order new ones for the 750 I'll just double the order, as the VXII would use the same size.

I just started looking for Highway Pegs myself. I am looking for a set that will extend farther past the fairing, unlike the original set that was on the bike. The originals were very uncomfortable to use as my leg would contact the fairing.

Also, the crash bar is 7/8"??

I'd like to figure out a way to get my feet away the shark's gill outlet. In hot conditions, my feet get baked on the regular pegs or air-fried on the aux pegs. I end up balancing the balls of my feet on the ends of the aux pegs.

No, floorboards won't help -- still in the heat. I was kinda glad to dump the floorboards.

My bars are 1", same as the bars on my 750 Vulcan.

Looking at these 2 as an option. The Long Angled Adjustable pegs look like they would accommodate the XII better. Have you had any luck finding suitable pegs?

I would recommend inserting a steel tube/pipe between the engine guard bars, putting a screw through them, to secure them together. This will reduce the engine bars flexing when you press your feet against them. It really strengthens the guard bars, so they won't bend much, in a tip over/crash.

In a 40 MPH low side crash, on my old Honda, the solid, one-piece engine guard bar, kept the bike off my leg. I actually slid, with my legs clamped on the engine. I realized I needed to let go with my legs, and my hands... When I did, the bike raced away from me, sparks flying. The bike slid much further than I did, after I let go of it! Thanks to my helmet, armored jacket, boots and leather chaps, I did not have a scratch on my body. Only mark I had was a scrape on a knuckle, beneath my leather gloves -- go figure.

I went with a galvanized pipe on my Voyager -- it ain't pretty, but it won't rust, and it does the job. The pipe's low visibility due to location on the bike means no one really notices it, but me. This technique is discussed in another thread here. You will need to remove at least one of the bars, to insert it, then put the other bar back; drill the holes for the screws, put the screws in place, and done. I highly recommend you do this on your bike [see my Honda low slide, above ;-) ]

Cut up an old bicycle inner tube. insert a rubber strip between the foot peg mounting bracket, and the steel/chrome tube, to protect it from scratches. The rubber will also give it a much firmer, non-slip grip: you won't need to tighten it as much, to achieve a firm grip on the tube.

I found that I could steer my bike by pressing on the Emgo floor boards mounted on the guard bars... I stopped doing it as I realized it would lead to metal fatigue, over time, and it might introduce permanent bends in the assemblies, as well. YMMV. Cheers!

I'll also add, keep an eye on eBay, you might find an OEM light bar like I did.

Kevin Wanner AVA board member makes and sells a stainless steal cross bar that goes between the two front crash bars and screws in. It’s polished and looks like chrome. Very nice.
