Website post sorting

Post by Nails »

I noticed about a week ago that the website doesn't sort the posts with new comments to the top of the thread lists. Instead, the new comments are scattered down the list -- maybe they're sorted by initial thread date? Or maybe not sorted at all?

Whatever ... I would like to submit a vote to put it back to the old way. I'm usually getting on this website to see the new comments, and I liked having them at the top. This new way is especially awkward when there are multiple threads with new comments, all in the same list (like this General Chat list of threads).

Also, the page I'm on now (starting a new thread) has a new, large, and unnecessary blank space between the comment box and the Submit button. I think I'm gonna cry.

:cry2: Whaa!

Okay, in the "Welcome back on American Voyager Association" box, in the list of bullets on the right. I never really looked there before. Thanks.

I don't think that New Post thingy works. It hasn't shown me anything for three or four days.

Use "unread posts" rather than "new posts"

I was making a joke about there not being any new posts. Duh.
My only riding has been on a d/s -- XII still laid up.
But surely somebody rode their XII somewhere interesting this summer.

There have been lots of posts this week. Put your glasses on LOL. I did 120 on the PA Turnpike long enough to break off my radio antenna and break the CB antenna bracket, is that interesting enough? LOL

I haven't been on a club ride in months, I think since before I got the new carbs installed and all the air leaks fixed. I rode up into the mountains a bit weekend before last, and going further up to visit a friend this weekend, at least I'm planning to. Foliage should be really nice. Got one of my GoPro cameras working, the other's got a broken mount.

Oh, I went over to visit Gene Kap in NJ on Sunday. Picked up Gertrude's 100,000 miles plaque. REALLY nice plaque, thanks guys!

Is there some way we can sort the posts so we can see new ones in the last week that I've already read?

You got that right. We'll see if I remember to charge my gopro and turn it on. I forgot to bring it in from the bike yesterday, and did again today. Taking photos with my phone requires stopping, and I tend to not do that, or if I do stop, I forget all about taking pictures! :-O

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread. I had never used the "unread posts" before, and it's been working swell. But I'm still requesting that the listed posts be sorted from newest reply to oldest. (I don't think they're sorted at all now.) This is to help find recent threads that don't have any "unread", "new", or "active" posts.

As an example, it took me a while to find this thread -- to re-activate and then bitch on. I eventually hit on "new posts" to search. I probably would've found it a lot quicker if the threads in General Chat were sorted, like they used to be.

(Geez, what a whiner.)
