need information

Post by sometimetoburn »

I am looking for a key mfg number that goes with my 2014 VV you want to talk about a pain of information to try and figure out what key blank you need. I was on a trip and had a problem, went to 2 dealerships and was told in their service dept that they dont cut keys what a joke one was small shop no bikes, understood the next one was a huge shop in La cross WI, very hard to believe they couldnt help a guy out.
So if I have done my research right i show a ILCO KW14 key blank? dont know if its right or not plz respond with help.
I do have a spar and the key code was trying to do this local with out paying 29.99 for a key.
Thanks for you time of read and help!!!

If you have a key that works (i.e. you don't need to have one cut from just the key ID number) go to any good locksmith, lumberyard, or hardware store and have them cut a copy from the one that you have. Almost always they can figure out what key blank to use and are likely to have one in stock. The cost tends to run in the $3 to $5 range. I've done this several times and never had a problem.

Every time I needed a replacement key for any motorcycle dating back to the late 60s the dealer has been able to supply it. Check there first. Second choice, Pop A Lock.

I had problems finding a kaw blank at the lock smiths so I went on ebay and found one. If you can't find one locally there is one on ebay now. cut and paste:
