ZN1300 Front Master Cylinder Cap

ZN1300 Front Master Cylinder Cap
A PO of my ZN1300 glued a square chrome cover over the front Master Cylinder cap blocking access to the cover screws. Presumably the the chrome piece was installed to hide a nasty looking cap, in any case when I peel that piece off, it's going to take any cover paint with it. The picture below shows what the cover is supposed to look like (all damage aside)- black with gold lettering - can someone tell me if that gold lettering is engraved or silk screened?

From here it doesn't look to be silk screened.

Just updating this...
I pulled the chrome cover off - wasn't that difficult - it was probably 'glued' on with silicone as I was able to scrape off the left over residue with my fingernail. All is all, cap doesn't look too bad with minor flaking paint near the edges - presumably from brake fluid contact.
