Galfer brake lines

Post by GrandpaDenny »

I just received my order of Galfer braided brake lines, and the packaging says they're for '87-'93 Voyager XII. Is there a difference from '94 up? When I ordered them I specified they're for a 2000.

Not sure, but all 12s are the same. The kit you bought will be different but should fit.

This is why you should have ordered them from me. The brake lines I sell will fit all Voyager1200 and are exect replacement.

I know, Don, I should've bought them from you, but these were half the price. My new progressive rear shocks cost half as much as the bike did!

I believe it. Everything I've done to this bike has been a huge improvement - it was a poor, neglected, abused $800 bike. She is coming along very, very nicely.

So these braided lines are good for life? No need to periodically change?

The lines I sale are the five line kit. Front brake lines (3) two to the calipers and one from the master cylinder to the Junction block. The 4th clutch line and 5th rear brake line. Also included is all crush washers and banjo bolts.

This kit is the exact replacement of the OEM rubber brake lines.

I can't recommend Don's stainless line kits enough. VERY complete, fit like a glove and are relatively simple to install. I do also recommend getting a set of "speed bleeders" to make bleeding those lines also a super-simple and quick process.

Don's after-sale customer service and help are fantastic. A great guy to deal with.

I'm writing this from memory -- I've slept a few times since I upgraded these hydraulic lines.

I also recommend this upgrade. But I want to mention that the slave clutch banjo was different from what presumably was stock on my bike. Still fit, but not quite as well as stock. This might be because I also switched my bike from floorboards to pegs, which changed some stuff down there.

In any case, it works fine, after very little puzzlement.
