Help with my carburetors

Hello everyone, I'm in the home stretch of getting the xii back together. I filled it full of gas and fired it up and I am having some issues. I rebuilt the carbs with a good quality rebuild kit. I kept everything oem. No jet changes or anything like that. All cleaning and replacing items I felt needed it. I used info from here and YouTube to try and get everything just so. I'm hoping it's just a tweek or two to get it smoothed back out. I'm posting a short video,hope it works.
Any help would be appreciated.

No video. What kind of issues are you having? Did you synchronize the carbs on the bike? Did you set the enrichment plunger to specs?

GrandpaDenny, no. I have not synched the carbs yet. This was the very first start up since I've gotten everything back together. It seems to stumble on first starting, I have to very gently ease more and more throttle into it or it cuts out.If I ease into it slowly I can get it to catch and eventually rev it to 3000 rpm off of idle. I thought I had everything set to spec. but I will double check the enrichment screw procedure to make sure I did in fact do it. I did notice that the bike is cold blooded, seems to take a long time to warm up. I don't know if that has anything to do with it also.

Ok, 3rd times a charm. I shortened the video,however I am not doing a good job of describing what's going on and it's somewhat hard to hear in the video. There also seems to be a split second lag between me twisting the throttle and the bike revving. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

CV carbs are known for a lag, waiting for the diaphragm/piston to respond to the changed air velocity in the carb throat — attempting to keep that velocity, um, constant by changing the size of that throat. This is why it’s vital to polish the piston, not just clean it.

Lots of dirt folks swap back to “old fashioned” slide carbs for better throttle snap. These designs don’t rely on any “automatic” diaphragm crap. My XT350 has an accessory carb for high-flow circumstances, which allows using a smaller primary (CV) carb for the low-flow circumstances — smaller CV carbs “snap” more quickly. (Yeah, one cylinder, two carbs.)

Bottom line: CV carbs have an inherent lag. Most people on fat touring bikes don’t notice.

My XT350 has an accessory carb for high-flow circumstances, which allows using a smaller primary (CV) carb for the low-flow circumstances — smaller CV carbs “snap” more quickly. (Yeah, one cylinder, two carbs.)

Interesting, i assume this works kind of like primary/secondary barrels on a 4 barrel automotive carb?
