HF Hidden Gem air mixture screw tool

Post by BackTrackBug »

$2.99. I checked and it does fit into all four mixture screws on bottom of the bowls. May have to take chrome guard off alternator for #1 carb. But the ratchet clicks/gear is small enough that you can get atleast 2 to 3 clicks on all the screws. And if you want even more clearance it looks like you can grind the 1/4 inch socket drive off the back without effecting the operation of it. Harbor Freights screwdriver aisle, $2.99.

Could have used this post a few years ago... There are times when such a screw driver is the only tool that will work. Need to visit my local HF. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I still recommend etching the carb body and using a dentist mirror to monitor that the screw actually turns.

Yup. I used my engraver and etched a small line where the screw bottoms out.I can see how easy it would be to become totally clueless if your one turn out or 4 quickly. That is a good idea Nails. And I have a dental mirror on my " things I need" list for the XII.
