Trunk moves has play (minor left right movement)

The trunk on my 2002 Voyager XII squeaks and moves slightly left and right slightly unless it is snug against the passenger seat. How can this be remedied? Are the bolts IN the trunk the cause and how they are snugged down?

IIRC, the trunk slides on some units that don't snug down. This is obvious if you remove the trunk.
A bit of play is by design -- I understand that some movement helps with stable handling. But with the XII this might be just the best they could do.

I will offer this solution as it worked for me.

Remove the front two sliding plastic pucks and make your own from solid PVC drilled out with a hole saw of the correct diameter. Use stainless steel bolt and appropriate size fender washer on the new (non-sliding) puck. Reassemble to the trunk as usual. Now you have a solid connection at all four mounting points.

I performed this modification after removing the trunk extender kit a former owner installed. He did not save the original sliding pucks, so I made my own and fastened them semi-permanently in position. I have had zero issues with rattles or sqeaks. I can still move the trunk if necessary...I simply loosen the front bolts first. It is a moot point however, since I prefer the trunk fully forward as that keeps the weight of luggage closest to the rear axle, where it belongs.

I've been through the trunk adventure, in three phases:
1. flip the white plastic doohickeys upside-down and put them under the bracket.
2. ask Gene K. to make you some nifty stainless steel sliders (I did not due to his workload)
3. Drill and bolt the durn thing down (this was my final solution). I have no need to slide the trunk forward. I'd say I've got the trunk a little rearward from stock, maybe 1"? Whatever room I had.

Nails, the reason for being able to slide the trunk is to be able to snug the passenger up behind the driver if desired, say if the driver is shorter and the pass. seat is slid (slided? slidden?) forward.

There is probably a little bit of slop designed in because if it was too snug it would be difficult or impossible to slide the trunk.
