Where is my clutch fluid going?

Post by glvnthedream »

My clutch fluid seems to be disappearing! I am not finding any leaks but after replacing the fluid when I got the bike I find myself having to refill the reservoir. I replaced the fluid and bled the clutch fluid and all seems good for a while. But after a couple weeks the fluid starts showing low again.

Any ideas to find a leak that is not appearing to be leaking. Where the heck is the fluid going??

Thanks in advance.

It may be time to repack the slave cylinder :hmm: ,as it could be going past that into the transmission :cry2:

You would be adding such a small % of the total volume ,I do not think you would notice the difference :corn:

Yes. Inspect the clutch slave cylinder as Loren suggested. See Chapter 5 of the manual.

Will do. Ordered a rebuild kit. Figured if I am going to pull it apart I might as well do a rebuild. I can only imagine what it's going to look like.

Thanks

Yeah, my guess is that you're gonna need the kit.

That’s affirmative on needing the kit. Oil sightglass nearly full and some nice sludge in the Slave cylinder.
