David,
What improvements or upgrades are on the 2011 from the 2010. Have read that only colors are the blue/silver and black/silver no red.

My red bike is a 2010. The new 2011 bikes come in the blue/silver and the black/pewter. The pewter takes on a greenish hue in the sunlight.

They made several changes for the 2011. You can read them at http://www.kawasaki.com , but off the top of my head they changed the exhaust which is 4dB quieter. They changed the gearing to make for smoother shifts. They remapped the ECU to go along with the new exhaust.

Not enough changes to make me trade in my beauty. Now if they figure out a way to make a quick release trunk and come out with a color I just can't live without. ;-) then maybe I would be ready for a trade.

David, thanks for the pictures and information. I will not be able to afford a new bike for quite some time, but the Voyager 1700 will be on my short list to at least try. I have let many others ride my XII, to let them try different bikes before they chose something to buy.
Swim, bike, run; sounds like fun!!!!

At 6'3" Phil, you will find the Voyager 17 much more roomy than the XII. I rode both back to back today and the XII feels more like sitting on my Ninja 650 than it does the 1700. Of course the XII is more nimble.

David, Thanks for the reply and pictures. Is the 2011 in the picture the dark blue like the 2010 or is it the ebony and pewter. Is kind of hard to tell. Don't like the 2010 dark blue and any mention of black shuts me down. Like you, these colors don't excite me much at this time, so will have to wait for better colors. Pasam

The 2011 is ebony and pewter. Personally I really liked the '09 Candy Plasma Blue and Black. Same color as my Ninja. But I wasn't ready to buy in '09.

Most of these bikes have to be seen in person and in the sun to truly appreciate their colors. My 2010 is a beautiful metalflake red and metalflake black. My wife fell in love with the color so that was the bike for us.

Hmmm... Wonder how popular they are (how many were sold?) I've never saw any of them around this part of Ohio yet. (Just wondering out loud.) Stop it, your scaring people. (voices in my head) :devl

Color is a case of "Beauty in the Eyes of the Beholder" definitely. I liked the '10 Dk. Blue and Silver combo. but as I said it's strictly based on personal taste. Our local dealer had sold the one he had allocated and had to get mine from the Dallas warehouse. It was there and no problem getting it. I have not noticed that many of these on the road either.

Mine did not like being on the road today in windy West Texas. 51 mph gusts with blowing dust. Made for a very short ride on my part. Better weather and more miles ahead!

My local dealer sold 4 '09s, and 8 '10s. 2 '11s so far. the other two dealers in the area have done about the same. Their biggest problem is getting them from Kawasaki. The local guy now has two Vaqueros sitting on the showroom floor. I don't expect them to be there long.

Of course we all know how popular goldwings are and I seldom see one on the road. Mostly see Harley Davidson touring bikes and cruiser bikes in general. I can't tell if they are HD unless they are ultra classics.
