Beth and I are good both dates also.

Some motels in the Harrisburg area
(prices before tax & rounded to nearest dollar w/AARP)
most honor
AAA, State & Fed Government: AARP, Senior as well as reward points if applicable.

Super 8 - $49 - Limited meeting area in Small dining room (no pool)
LaQuinta - $59 - large meeting area in dining room (no pool)
Howard Johnsons - $55 - large meeting area in dining room (no pool)
Ramada - $64 - large meeting area in dining room (indoor pool and hot tub)
Days Inn - $72 - meeting area in breakfast dining room (no pool)

I'm sure we could gather at any one as long as someone was staying there, and I don't mind spending the extra $15 to stay at the Ramada so I can relax in the hot tub that evening. So if we want to gather there we could!

Sunday the 27th works for us, no problem. We'll be staying at the Ramada Inn, not sure if we'll come in Friday or Saturday (there's a great farmers market in town with baked goods that are out of this world {peach dumpling anyone?}). If you want to gather there I'm sure it would be fine, my family (wife, two married daughters/son-in-laws & kids, two unmarried daughters) have rearranged tables in a motel before and spent the evening playing games and enjoying some adult beverages (responsibly) without any issues.
If there is another/preferred location just let me know!

SORRY Folks, when I tried to reserve a room today at the Ramada they were all booked (except the most expensive). I checked all others and not too far from there is a Days Inn (815 S. Eisenhower Blvd, Middletown, PA 17057 {room rate ended up $67 after taxes}). Pretty much the same set up just not as close to down town Harrisburg. Google has it as 11 minutes from the state capital building, so it's not very far.
Sorry if this causes any problems for anyone.

Hi Everyone,
I would really go for a new North East Chapter, The only issue for myself is, We live about
4 hours north of Harrisburg. What I think I would do in order to attend a meeting is maybe
go down the afternoon/ evening before the meeting. Stay in a hotel that night and the next day
go to the meeting and meet all of you good people! Robin (my wife) has been down to that area the last couple of years to attend a big Horse expo at some sportsmen complex. It would be nice if we all were closer together. I'm still trying to find out if there is any Voyagers closer
to the Binghamton, Elmira, Ithaca area.

For anybody coming in Saturday there is a motorcycle breakfast at the local fire house Sunday morning 7-11. Parking is great and so is the food. This is a 10 minute ride to get there from the hotel. Deb and I are regulars at this breakfast. We only live 15 minutes away from the hotel so we would be at the hotel between 8:30 and 9:00 to meet up with anybody that would like to go. Unfortunately we do not have the bike for this meeting. I am getting more "shiny" pieces added to it! lol! Shiny pieces that Gene K. might be interested in producing! Everybody ride safe!

Oh thats way to early for me Chris.... I left at 9:15 and the traffic going thru Phili was awful.... two thirty minute delays. Anyway I have arrived and have met up with Scott and his wife and have checked in. I seem to be the only voyager here with a bike. Hope to meet up with all that are coming for diner tonight. Gene Kap.

PS bring the bike I want to see all the new shinny peices I may be able to make......

Well Terry is right, today's "Ride In" was wonderful giving some of us a chance to meet folks we talk to all the time but don't know faces, and rekindle other friendships! Today put an end to the for some of us, 10 to be exact.
In order of seating while we shot the bull and discussed strategies for how we may be able to accommodate such a large coverage area should we get the AVA's blessings and recognition for the Mid Atlantic Voyagers. Kevin W, Chris & Deb T, Gary D, Gene K, Terry R, Scott(me) & Beth B, and Milt & Kathy L.
Represented were Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York and in my opinion that was pretty darned good! It was mutually agreed that we should identify a few opportunities for some of us to gather at various events such as Janet Weis Children’s Hospital 29th-annual Motorcycle Miracle Tour[<-- link] which is being held June 1st. as well as Johnstown PA's Thunder in the Valley[<-- link] which is being held June 26-29th.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions of events that could serve as a purpose for AVA members to meet just post it.
Thank you Kevin for getting this started!

I am planning to do a ride this Sunday for Boyscout camp Lavigne.
Registration is 9:30 - 11:00 at 5 Audubon court Bloomsburg Pa.
$15.00 per rider.
it ends at Quaker Steak and Lube, Buckhorn just off interstate 80 with lunch at 12:00
it's usually about a 70 mile ride.
If anybody is interested let me know so we can meet up

I will also be going on the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital 29th-annual Motorcycle Miracle Tour on June 1st

And I would like to plan A "ride in" to Johnstown PA's Thunder in the Valley I don't know if I can do Thursday but would like to do Friday and Saturday for sure.
We should probably arrange for a place to stay motel or camp doesn't matter to me
