If it is the stock exhaust, I doubt you can do anything to change it. Maybe some slip-on tips that point downward would be the least expensive. You will have to measure the O.D. and start looking.

The salesman gave a similar answer. I'll just get used to the noise because the bike is great otherwise.

And then there are folks like me who added Vance & Hines pipes for even more noise!

Durring development I fought hard to keep dec levels down prototypes were very loud levels were brought down when first production bikes came out in 09 and in 11 new style pipes were that were I believe 7 dec lower. When Kawasaki asked me to do a survey with our members as to what they would like to see in a new Touring bike one of the items was to keep noise levels down. Alot of what you see in the new Voyager came from people like you I had 1200 responces in 2 weeks and at that time I was sent to Santa Ana to go over the survey with the results.

I think the 1700 has a very pleasing note. . . . enough V-Twin rumble without being loud and obnoxious!

How can I tell if the mufflers on my Voyager are after market? The only 2011 models I've found on the internet have a round exhaust and mine are v shaped at the tip.

Take a ride to your nearest Kawasaki dealer and compare your mufflers with one on the showroom floor (if they have any!) I don't think the year makes any difference. 20012/13/14 are probably the same as 2011.

Afternoon Need some help was thinking about adding some slip ons to my voyager.

Question
How much does it affect the radio by the loudness of the exhaust?
Can you still hear the radio with exhaust so loud?

Thanks

My 3-yearl old V&H pipes are loud to where I have to run my radio higher than with standard mufflers (speakers on - usually 7 - 8), (headphones only on highway - 15+). Definitely a trade-off for the rumble.

I'm not going to comment on the V Twin Voyager. Let's just say it ain't my cup of tea. I just took my first (don't laugh) long distance trip on my 1200 since I bought probably five plus years ago and the only thing that drove me crazy was the whine of my gear drive. I can't remember hearing the exhaust.
