ABS light stays on Vulcan Voyager 1700 2011

Post by ewilberg »

I have a 2011 Vulcan Voyager 1799 K-ACT ABS Ok so my Bridgestone OEM tires were done at 7K miles. So I was looking for a tire for the rear and I bought the Elite 3 Touring Bias-Ply Rear Tire160/80B-16 and the Michelin - Commander II Cruiser Front Tire130/90-16. I got it all back together and went for a ride and the ABS light stayed on the whole time. I then went to the shop manual and it said the light could come on for air pressure issues and tires that are not recommended for this bike.
I did a fault code check and it just keep giving me 12 which is not code but I can not get the light to shut off or determine what the issue is.
It all started after I changed the tires. The front is the exact size as the OEM the rear tire is not. So any suggestion?
Thanks Eric
Thanks,
Crash

ok, I'm no expert, but let's check stupid stuff. Have you checked all wire connections from one end to other? Is there a fuse that if blown can cause this condition? Have you tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting in an effort to reset?
I find it hard to believe the system would not except a tire of a different size. There must be some margin of error because the same size tire from another company is probably not the same physical size. :hmm:
That's all I got, :thk:

had a similar problem on my van.

Front wheel is on backwards so the sensor is not reading the pickups.
