H4 LED bulb

Post by Barry »

Has anyone tried the motorcycle specific H4 LED bulbs? There seem to be several suppliers offering them now. Here's some examples:

or

Seems like too many lumens, if that is possible? I'm wondering if we have sufficient clearance for this design behind our headlight housing? In the past, RFI interference was a concern.

Notice the reviews. They are being used on Goldwings. There's on old saying about a fool & his money. But hey, I used to own an Aspencade many years ago! I used to run an 80/100 halogen for years. Several vxii's have toasted their headlight wiring doing this. :oh:
My current vxii headlight doesn't seem to have a very bright low beam. I may have forgotten to transfer the bulb when I was pulling parts off my '93 vxii 10 years ago. :hmm:

I have this one on my bike, http://www.amazon.com/Ediors-Motorcycle ... ight+White" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for $27
So far it's great and far brighter than the stock bulb. The only issue is that the power leads are just the round crimp connectors but a pair of plyers flatend them out so they shove right into the stock connector on the bike.

I use one from cyron.com. There was a artical in hotbike about this bulb being used on Harley's. It is a plug and play for the Voyager, love mine. At Amazon you can get it for $55.

I am planning to go with a LED bulb but my modulator will not work on them.
Signal Dynamics is working on a modulator that will work on LED bulbs.
That's when I will switch to LED
