Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

What jet pilot and main jet should I use

Post by fwbpastor »

Well after running more seafoam through the bike, installing new spark plugs, trimming the spark plug wires, checking for any vacuum leaks, (all vacuum hose are in great shape), after having checked the alternator, regulator for volts and amps, there is still a hesitation, shutter in the engine, and it happens in the high gears when I am just cruising, but especially in 5th. When I open up the throttle it smooths right out.

So I have decided to rebuild all the carbs.
I am buying this kit: K&L Supply Carburetor Repair Kit 18-2639

I also want to replace the needle jet (16017) the jet-pilot and the main jet.

Here is my question”
There are 2 options for the jet-pilot (92064, 92064a) and 4 for the Main jet (92063 a-d)
Which do I use?

Thanks for the help.

All you should have to do is replace the float needle valve and clean all the jets and make sure all the slides work freely you can polish them just be careful not to damage the diaphragm
also remove the plugs from the idle jets and clean them reinstall them 2 turns out.
There is some information in the tech section on carburetors .
I think there is a DVD available somewhere on this site also.
When you have them back on the bike make sure you sync. them

The K & L float hangar brackets for the K & L kits have a tendancy to hang up the floats, You need to save the oem ones to use. It would be a good idea to give Carl Leo a call. He can give you the correct way to get your carbs right, He has done many of these for the XII .
