Blowing Radiator Hoses

Post by davidee »

Hope someone can offer some advice. The last two times I have ridden my 92 Voyager as far as 40 miles it has blown a radiator hose in my driveway as soon as I killed the engine. This morning after replacing the second hose I filled the radiator and started the engine to let it get up to operating temperature. As it got up to temp and I was reaching up to turn the engine off it blew another hose and sprayed out my antifreeze again. This time the coolant wasn't even hot enough for the fan to come on. In fact while warming the engine up I had my hand on the radiator cap and it was only warm.

I haven't tried to locate which hose blew this time as I was so disgusted I covered the bike and went in search of an adult beverage.

Any help would be appreciated.

There was a recent thread where someone pointed out that the hose to the overflow tank was kinked. I imagine someone will be along with more info.
