Clutch Master Cylinder Problem

Post by Biker Max »

I have recently encountered a strange Clutch operation problem. After a while riding the bike the clutch lever operation slowly moves further back towards the bar, eventually leaving me with no clutch. If I leave the bike standing around an hour, the clutch lever action comes back & works as normal. The clutch works fine. No problem there.
If I unbolt the master cylinder & hold it in the air, by the end of the lever& then bolt it back on. The lever action returns to normal. Strange! There are no fluid leaks at all.
I checked for air locks before stripping the master cylinder & cleaning it. This problem seems to happen maybe an hour into a journey. Up until then everything is OK.
Checking Google I found only one article where a guy had his master cylinder changed twice under warrantee. For the same problem.
So has anybody else had this problem? The bike is a 2008 A8F model.
