Rode the XII in to work yesterday (43 miles one-way), ran beautifully, great ride even at 2am...rode home at 2pm, ran well till I got to a signal light right off the freeway, died with gyrations of the tach needle...cranked but would not fire...turned key off, waited a couple of minutes, turned key on and it fired up, ran so I could get away from the signal, then next time I dropped the rpm's for a stop sign tach needle started flipping again and it shut down....refused to start again till I turned the key off, then back on after a couple of minutes...did not try to start it immediately after turning key off then back on yet...the only way I made it home was to keep it in 2nd gear taching about 4krpm, tach needle bouncing all over the place...
Does this sound like anybody else's experience, and what did it end up being? I am suspecting the ignition switch at this moment, but am NOT a mechanic by anyone's estimation...
Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Re: Seeming electrical issue...
Yes,it could be the ignition switch.I would more suspect the ignition switch harness. Many were fastened too tightly to the frame at the steering head, and failed due to steering the bike, and flexing the harness
.My '99 had already been patched when I bought it in 2009 with 22000 miles. It then failed again,so I rewired it.There are posts on the forum that explains the symptoms, tests, and repairs.Do a search for "ignition switch harness".Let us know what you find out.

You got it, thanks...didn't know how to search other than "electrical", and nothing specific came up...I'll report back as soon as I've had a couple of non-issue rides again...
