Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!
I took my rear caliper off today but still attached to the hose. It was loaded with gunk and that is why I think it was locking up when backing up. Anyway I spit shined all parts and started to reassemble it. Problem is there is a thin metal piece mounted in the caliper that the brake pads ride on and goes under the piston. I can't remember how it goes back in. I just love getting OLD !!
Any help I would appreciate. Even a picture here or to ppb0861@gmail.com
Thanks !
From the manual in the above post the only good photo of it is on PG 11-3 . If you pushed it accross the page the direction toward the caliper & put it in the top or closed part of the caliper the way they are both pictured that is the way it goes. Hint: don't over think it, it can only go in one way and fit right, UNLESS I was doing it!!!
ole farts half to stick together! ooooo!!! erase that thought!!!
Most motorcycle brake calipers are nearly the same. You might refer to this video, it might help with reassembly. I have found that using a medium size 6" C clamp works best for pushing the piston back in without damaging it.
