Left Hand Switch Assembly Replacement

Has anyone here replaced the Left Hand Switch Assembly? I have a problem with my Dimmer Switch not working and have traced it to a defective Dimmer Switch. The Blue/Yellow wire is hot at the Headlight Reserve Lighting Device and the Red/Black wire has no power coming out of the Dimmer Switch. There is no replacement Dimmer Switch, the solution is to replace the whole assembly including the wiring harness. If anyone out there has done this just how difficult is it to feed the harness through and connect the 5 or 6 connectors to get it hooked back up? Carl Leo has sent me the Switch Assembly, I am just a little apprehensive about tearing into this project. TIA John Ramsay

All the plastic connectors of the LH switch assembly are behind the LH fairing and while tightly packed among the other wiring/connectors, it is relatively easy to replace the wire leads/connectors from the new switch assembly.
Before taking a connector apart of the old assembly mark the harness portion with tape/felt tip marker with a reference number and /or letter and then make the same mark on the corresponding colour coded wire new connector. That way "#1" will fit into "#1" of the harness connector and so on and so on until you have replaced the old with the new. While you are at it force some dielectric grease well into the female terminals before plugging the male terminals in so as to keep everything from corroding in the future.
Anyone with even a small amount of mechanical aptitude can do this as it is really user friendly,

I’ve replace mine 4 times on my 96 due to self cancelling turn signals not working. Finally found NOS one on eBay for a reasonable price and recently installed it. Not a bad job.
