Re: Who has what
O.K. I try this one....
2001 Trailmasters Aspen Classic Tent trailer
est-mid 80's Backwoods Bungalow Tent trailer
1982 Roadrunner Cargo trailer
2003 WAG (mini horse style) Cargo trailer
est-mid 80's Motorvation Cargo trailer
1950's Custom rebuild Coffman Cargo trailer
In-progress Custom build 1500 GW Saddlebags, single wheel Cargo trailer
However, don't anticipate any trailer milage this year. Scheduled trip will be using a Rivco Hitch Rack and dufflebag in conjunction with motels. (approx 4k miles)

Re: Who has what
I have a custom built that I pull anytime I do an overnight trip with the wife. I plan to pull at least 3,000 miles within the next year. I like having my trailer with me on trips. It is nice to have the extra space if a purchase is made on one of my trips that is too large for the saddlebags.

Re: Who has what
I made a cargo trailer from a pickup truck tool box. I use this on short, tent trips, or 1 day group rides, (I haul lunch fixens, and drinks)
I use the camper for the longer trips
Plan on doing around 5K this year. Traveling from Atlanta to Rushmore to Yellowstone to Grand Tetons and back to Atlanta. Already have done Atlanta to Harrisburge Pa. and back Twice this year. Going to KY Bourbon Trail in 2 weeks, then the Dragon 2 weeks after that.

Re: Who has what
Harbor Freight and a Sears car topper. Probably put 1500 miles or so on it this year, since the AVA rally is a bit closer to home than it has been in the past.

Re: Who has what
I pull a trailer from Al's Motorcycle Accessories ( http://www.alsmotorcycleaccessories.com/ ) in Alabama. I got it from a friend of mine. I changed the lights to LED and added some paint. It's basically the same thing as the HF/Sears combo, but Al builds his own frames. I've got about 1500 miles planned so far, and, hopefully more.

Your the second one I've seen with the exhaust tips at the back of the trailer. The other was on a Valk. and he had red LEDS inside the pipes.

Where else....EBAY...
I'll have to look when I get home and see if I still have the email I got when I bought them. I think the Red ones were about $39 /pair and the Amber ones were a couple of dollars more. They are all combo brake/tail, but I'm just using the bright side of the Ambers for turn signals.
Edit to add: The picture looks like they're all RED but the top ones are actually Amber. Looks much better in person.. :-)

Re: Who has what
I had seen it done before, but hadn't given any thought to doing it on mine. When traveling through St. Louis on the way to the Asheville rally, the wife and I had lunch with Mike in IL and he had a surprise for me. He had cut off the tips from his Voyager to get a little more growl and so they were just laying around. He thought they'd look swell on my trailer. He wasn't wrong.Scott-(Altoona, PA) wrote:Laser I noticed that too and got a good chuckle out of it.LASER917 wrote:Chris

I have a flame thrower idea in my head, but that's as far as I've gone with it. It'd be cool, though, LOL.

Re: Who has what
Here you go Chris, all you need is a few butane bottles (small refill size) and two pezio igniters with long cables. Then go for a ride and test it out. Not sure how to you'll release the gas.....maybe the red leds would be a better idea! Get the kind that light in a rotating motion for a special effect.

Re: Who has what
Here is pic of my '96 XII pulling our 2000 Bunk House LX
In this pic I was towing without the dolly. Here is a pic of the dolly.
I also have a older model Cycle Mate cargo trailer That I have lengthed the tongue about 8" or 10" and added a cooler rack. I don't have any pics of it right now. I will try and get some soon.

Sharp looking trailer for a home made job!Chris near Kansas City wrote:Harbor Freight and a Sears car topper. Probably put 1500 miles or so on it this year, since the AVA rally is a bit closer to home than it has been in the past.
Which car top carrier is that? The 20 or the 18 cubic foot? It seems to fit really good. Did you have to modify the trailer frame for it to fit? I am thinking of making one myself, that or buying a piggybacker.
Thanks

Re: Who has what
It's the 20. Been a while since I've been by there. Don't know if they carry them still or not. Didn't have to do anything to put it on the trailer. But, I did narrow the trailer some and I did put a plate on top to help support the topper, instead of just 2 or 3 rails underneath, like a car's roof rack. Piggybacker is a decent trailer. Everything comes to you ready to go together. You don't have to run all over town picking up pieces and burning gas, or waiting for the stuff to go on sale. This is what I spent on mine:
$140 (trailer on sale) +
$160 (sears topper on sale) +
$80 (diamond plate, though you could use just about anything, preference rally) +
$25 (big ol' honking piece to lengthen tongue) +
$25 (spare tire) +
nuts, bolts, eye-bolts, different wiring connector, etc.
.....$450 total
And since then, I've added just a few doodads, changed over all the bulbs to LED so there's essentially no load now on the bike's electrical system.

Re: Who has what
Here is a link to my website with a picture of my Voyager and trailer. It started out from Canadian Tire(no harbourfreights up here) that I narrowed by 6 inches and added the usual cartop carrier.
