Replacement battery

Although I'm sure it's been discussed, the only references to battery replacements in a search are the Dollar4 Dollar suggestion of the Napa and several references to the Odyssey PC-680. I needed a battery quickly today as my was completely shot -- no time to have one shipped before departing MN for IA -- so I bought a Diehard (Sears) DieHard Gold PowerSport Battery 18L-BS. I also had the option there of a regular DieHard PowerSport Battery 50-N18L-A3 (same number as the Napa in the D4D note) but wanted the maintenance free version.

Any one have any experience with either Sears battery? I've used Diehards in cars for years, but never in a bike. I use a tender so I'm hoping this lasts a long time. Its a bad feeling to get home from a flight and go out to the bike in a lot and have nada...

As long as I brought it up, anyone used any other types? I searched for several terms and really came up with very little, but may be missing something...

I am certain Sears doesn't make their own batteries. It is probably a rebranded Yuasa. The best bike battery you can buy.

I've had an Odyssey battery for three years now and it is as good as new. It is supposed to last a very long time. Expensive, but good.

i got stuck twice riding in charity rides due to the long very slow rides, the bike never had a chance to charge up the battery. a fellow rider told me about the Gman battery and he told me he will never buy another brand again. i looked at their batteries and decided why not, they do cost a little more but if they work like advertised it will be worth it. so i ordered one and it arrived very quickly and fully charged. and i must admit the 500 plus cold cranking amps were amazing. my voyager started up so fast i almost couldn't get my finger off the start button fast enough. i noticed that after 2-3 days the factory brand battery would struggle to try to start up my bike (because of the drain on it from the radio and clock) and if it didn't the battery would die rather quickly, but so far i have started my bike with no hesitation even after not starting her up for 2 weeks. i will tell everyone i can about their batteries, only draw back was the braket that holds the battery in place needs to be bent slightly so the srews can go back in. if you get one you will notice the starting power that battery puts out , their website is gmanindustries.com
