Left work to go vote today and when I got to the pole my boot cover, or whatever you call that cover around the passenger controls of the radial was gone. It was about a 7 mile drive back and left an I out for it. Saw it on a 6 lane divided road a mile from work. Had to do a u-turn and another to retrieve it. I thought it was permanently attatched . Apparently h
Just Velcro, holding it. Any suggestions on keeping it safely attached.
Also, does anyone use a half cover, a seat only cover or a dash mat to protect their bike. Any I
Opinions. My bike will sit in an open parking lot for 12 hours at a time.

Re: Lost my cover for rear radia control
I have always used a inexpensive full cover for my M/C's. The sun can and will do much damage over time to any M/C. When it rains and then you cover it, the heat is captured and it drys out everything very quickly, so no corrision starts. And when you go to sell your XII 10 yrs down the road, it will look like new. Treat them good they will treat you good...
The rear control cover can be attached by a tether ( run a ty-wrap thru it,) But most everyone I know has removed the controler completly, You get tired of kicking them when you get on and then when you open the trunk it mutes the radio and you can't figure it out usually untill about the 11teenth time it happens!!!. Just unplug it and put it in a drawer and furgitaboutit!!! AND MY M/C!!! ,I will control MY radio!!!! lol ride safe...

Re: Lost my cover for rear radia control
Bob, don't know how you lost this cover if it was correctly connected. Yes it does secure with velcro but the wires should run up through it in a small slit that is on the bottom of the cover. If you have the wires outside of the small slit then yes it could be lost if it comes unattached. Just make sure that your wires come up through the slit and even if it comes loose from the velcro it will still remain with the bike.
