Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Alternative to cover the radio face... & speaker covers

Post by HawkeSHR »

Well I tried several times to fix my radio cover frame and it failed. Small cracks on both sides and broke. I tried acetone, a couple type of ABS plastic-compatible glues, etc. The frame kept breaking because the break spots were the weakest and thinnest points. :tho:

So I tried the fix we use for other items, NASA used it and it's name is a combination of the words "velour" and "crochet", (a.k.a. velcro). :hmm:  I roughed up the plastic under the velcro to help it bond a little better.

Here are my results. I'm not looking for perfection but just something to help keep rain off and also dust, etc. Trying to protect my rebuild investment and Peter's hard work :LAngel

Revealing the "inside velcro attachment" to frame:

Question: Where can I get covers for the trunk mounted speakers? ~ Thanks!

I assume you couldn't buy a new radio cover? They may no longer be available, but I'm not sure. You'll have to find used speaker covers since they are no longer available. Won't hurt if you don't have them, I've never covered mine and didn't have any trouble.

The ones I've noticed for sale online the seller(s) want $100 for it. I was going to try to use the broken one as a pattern and make something out of plastics or metal but don't have time to dabble. The Velcro covers it and provides protection and that's all I need. Thanks for your feedback!
