Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Cyl. Hd. Cov., Reed Valve Blank Plate

Post by triton28 »

I thought perhaps some of you would like to see the steel blanking plate which was fitted to Canadian Voyager XII models in place of the Kawasaki Clean Air System. Said system uses those reed valves located in the cylinder head cover.

I used the gasket thickness I have totaled on the plan. Originally it used only the 11009-1905 gasket but I don't think it is quite enough so I use the 2 OEM gaskets the USA models have in order to get an exhaust gas tight fit. The 11009-1905 gasket AND the 11009-1595 gasket seem to be a better fit for the plate in my opinion, YMMV.
Of course one could use some thick gasket material and make a single gasket but I used what I had. And, so long as the 11009-1905 gasket is used, I would think aluminium stock would also work, bowing of the plate being the consideration here.
The plate will NOT seal against the thin 11095-1595 gasket alone as the bolt bosses will be above the top of the blanking plate and the bolts will fetch up before contacting the plate.
Perhaps a member who has AutoCad can redo it in professional form and repost it for any who may wish to make it and get rid of all that plumbing.
Anyhow, here you go,
regards,
Dave

EDIT: Radius shown should read "6.5mm"
