Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Preventive maintenance

Post by cushman eagle »

My bike will probably have about 86,000 miles on it going into [winter service]
With that in mind, should I be looking at water pump overhaul, alternator bearing replacement, and a new fuel pump?
I know winter service should be 3 months away yet,but I am planing ahead.
I already replaced the oil seal in the water pump, but not the water seal or the bearings.
I also replaced the brushes in the alternator. :hmm:

Loren,
I have almost the same miles on my 02. Going to Summersville my output bearing failed and Carl replaced the transmission Assy . My feeling is you never know so I don’t replace or do any overhauls until something fails. When my water pump started dripping oil I did the repair. When my coolant manifold started leaking I did the repair. So far I have not had any issues on my 96 with almost 60,000 miles on it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
