Hello again, So I am having trouble with the speedometer cable and gear on the wheel. I went to take the cable off to replace it and it is basically rotted in the housing down on the front wheel. I was hoping to get it out to be able to use the housing again. Do any of you know how to get the "upright " gear in the housing out. I feel if I can get that out I can get the last little bit of speedo cable out.
Thank you.
Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Re: Speedometer cable and gear problem
The gear housing itself is still available and not expensive, IIRC. I put a new one on Gertrude about a two years ago, before the pandemic started. Got it from Partzilla IIRC.

Re: Speedometer cable and gear problem
Since you're in there, note that you have an option to get a different cable drive wheel that corrects the speedometer. It also renders the odometer incorrect. Your choice.
