I don't think my bike likes to go to Daytona. Almost everytime I have a major issue is the week before an event there. Been having carb leak issues and after working on them last night the fuel pump did not pump. Pulled the cover off, all looked fine. Plugged it back in to test it and it came on. Hooked it back up, nothing. Took it back apart and filed points, worked but when i hooked up fuel line it's not pumping fuel. Something esle I should try? Ideas on a replacement? I know Carl is in the middle of moving and is all packed up or I would try him. Can I gravity feed it for now?

Re: Fuel Pump
Call Carl, he is in Daytona right now and may be able to help you troubleshoot on the phone. Maybe fuel filter?

Re: Fuel Pump
I had the same problem, I took the pump off and cleaned the points and put it back in, didn't pump. After tearing out some hair I switched the in and out hoses and 'voila' it pumped just fine. Check that the hoses are connected to the right ports and the filter is clear.ffltstn wrote:I don't think my bike likes to go to Daytona. Re: Fuel Pump
It would be good to check for a crimp in the feed line from the gas tank. That happened to me after replacing the fuel pump on the road.
