South Dakota Sighting of a XII
While driving home from Rapid City, SD on Interstate 90, after a four day business trip, I passed a '01 or '02 Voyager pulling a trailer just as they were exiting the super slab at exit 191 for Murdo, SD. If I hadn't been pressed for time, I would have turned around to try talking with the couple. It's always nice to meet other members of the AVA family. Sorry I missed you.

I Know of 3 (three) Voyagers who were up in the SD region recently. Geno Shields (Teal '95), Homer Dawson ('01), and Bob Jewell ('02). AKA, "The Trixsters". Homer would have been heading to Denver, pulling a black Piggy Backer trailer. Bob would be heading back to Kansas with an aluminum diamond plate trailer. Geno would not be in that area as he would be making a beeline back to Nevada.

The voyager I saw didn't have enough "Bling" to be Homie's. I've seen pix of his on the trickster's site. It might have been Bob since the trailer was a light color. I was paying more attention to the bike than I was the trailer.

The Trixsters website went defunct long ago. but they pass stuff around on FB under the name "GeeHom Tricksters" There are still a few of the original trixsters that can be found there.

Re: South Dakota Sighting of a XII
I was driving in North Phoenix when I believe I saw a dark brown Voyager XII on 7th street (I think it was Saturday the 15th). I was in my pickup (i take it when too much to haul) so didn't wave. Brown???? or faded black. Just saw it long enough to be sure it was a XII.
Guess it would be nice even if we don't start an AZ chapter to get together 2 to 3 times a year. Larry Baker started the process, but he had the emails of everyone (brief friendship, but miss him anyway).

Re: South Dakota Sighting of a XII
Years ago we had a CalNevAri Regional Voyagers Chapter (California/Nevada/Arizona). It had probably 10-15 members from the tri-state area and 10 or more members from across the states. Had a few good years then we went limp. I still have about 25 or 30 of the original patches and pins.kjsett wrote:I was driving in North Phoenix when I believe I saw a dark brown Voyager XII on 7th street (I think it was Saturday the 15th). Re: South Dakota Sighting of a XII
For everyone out West
AVA Western Regional Rally, Reno Aug 19-20. This will be a mini AVA International Rally, with all the things you'd expect to do at the International Rally. Reg is $40.00 per person, and the Hotel is Harrah's Reno $40.00 per night, you will be there for 4 nights so the total cost for the Hotel is less then $200.00. You want to see Voyagers then come, help make this a larger event by coming. If we get a good turn out from AZ you all can have your first meeting in Reno.
This is the 3rd Western Regional Rally. The last two were a lot of fun, there have been fires, cold weather and Vulcan Demo Rides. So in Reno what will happen under the bright lights of the Biggest Little City. How about a show and shine in the Plaza in front of Harrah's, under those bright lights. With hotel guests coming out and looking at your Pride and Joy. Yes you and your Voyager can be the center of the Universe. Then the rides, train rides and the famous hot dog lunch somewhere on the Thursday ride. All for just $40.00, don't forget that on Wed there's a ladys day, a whole day for all ladys away from motorcycles, and doing what ladys do. Like shopping, tea, and just having a good time with other gals.
