Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

Removing Risers Cover
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. A few weeks ago I picked-up a pretty sweet looking 91 and am beginning the wonderful process of fitment. This may sound like a no brainer but how do you remove the riser cover? I want to pivot the handle bars up a bit. I'm hoping that will allow me enough adjustment without adding risers. I'm 6' 2" with a rather long torso. Anyone else done that and was it helpful? Also, if you did, have you found leaving the bars in stock position or ratcheting them forward helpful? Thanks so much!

Re: Removing Risers Cover
The cover in the middle over the clamps there should be 2 Philips screws in the top take them out and it should pull right off. If you mean the little chrome covers over the bolts in the handlebars there should be a little slot or grove that you can get a small screwdriver in and they will pop right off, They are just plastic so you can scratch them up real easy.

Re: Removing Risers Cover
Thanks for the reply.I am talking about the black cover over the risers. I see two small holes on top but no screws in them. Still a bit baffled. The case covers the risers and wraps around the ignition key lock.

Re: Removing Risers Cover
It sounds like someone may have glued the cover on or maybe Velcro? Those screws not being there is what is supposed to hold it on.

Wow, that's helpful. Hearing a tiny sounding rattle which may be that cover. Will investigate. Thanks!

Re: Removing Risers Cover
OK, turns out that it was just stuck on there. Popped right off. Adjusted the bars up considerably and absolutely love it. I have the bars pivoted out a bit and up where my hands are parallel with the mirrors. It does block a little visibility and the brake lever just hits the windshield when parked. It feels very similar to my 10" ape hangers on my cruiser. The bike feels so much more stable with the bars lifted and I am sitting more upright. Thanks again for the help. So great to get things adjusted just right.

If you search this forum you will find that there are mirror extensions available that someone makes. Might be the perfect fix for the loss of visibility you are now having.DailyRider wrote:OK, turns out that it was just stuck on there. Popped right off. Great to hear you got it feeling more comfortable for you. Now you will see why so many of these bikes are still on the road and being loved by so many!

Yes, loving the bike and really appreciate the forum. What literally took me years of tweaking to get my Honda Shadow to fit is taking me a couple of weeks to get it just right. Amazing the difference. Great tip on the mirror extensions. Will do that.
