Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

dashboard clunking sound

Post by DailyRider »

There is a clunking sound that seems to be coming from the dashboard or perhaps under it when I hit a good bump. I have had the fork oil changed and have checked the air pressure and I don't think I am bottoming out. Any ideas on what may be loose or mis-adjusted part that is making contact? I know the mystery of chasing rattles, but this one seems so prominent I'm guessing/hoping someone else has seen it before (and more importantly has a fix). Thanks for reading.

Could be your radio mounts. I have not had this problem yet but others on here have. I have heard they are prone to breakage with age.

Does it sound heavy enough to be loose steering head bearings? :corn:

Ooh, yes it does sound heavy enough. In fact that does sound plausible. I would much rather it be a loose radio but yes, could be. Anyway to verify if that's the case?

OK, you guys are the bomb. Just tightened the steering but and yes it was a good 10 lbs loose. Haven't ridden it yet but I bet that is the culprit. Defi jtely needed to be done nonetheless. Thanks so much!

Thanks, yes that is exactly the torque I set it to and a world of difference above 60 mph.Just took it for a ride. Still have some other clunk but I think the most significant one on hard bumps is gone. The other one now seems more hollow like plastic. Probably have to take the front fairing apart to get to it. :tho:
