Hello everyone! As of today, we have 90 registered! That's going to be a great turn out!
Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.
See you all soon!

yes, cheaper ones on ebay but they are experiencing a high rate of failure. i am running one to test the durability but have an OEM safely tucked away in my saddlebag just in case. rebuilds are only as good as the rebuilder,. i have had good and bad results............

Re: Is it made of Gold??
I archived this info from this board in 2006:
8/14/06
I didnt see this listed anywhere, so hopefully its not common knowledge:
Here is a list of part number's for the Voyager XII alternator/generator.
The stock Kawasaki part# cross references to the part#s below.
Mitsubishi is the OEM. I'm going to check and see if it' any cheaper from Kubota or Mitsu.
So far I found the Mitsubishi reman for $389.95
Alternator Part #s
Kawasaki – 21001-1121, [/i]210011123, 221001-1083, 21001-1121
Mitsubishi - A7T20199
Kubota – A2TA8277, A002TA8277
John in NJ
I had a starter shop check the Mitsubishi number several years ago and said they could get a new one for I believe $275-300. The $389 would probably be close to todays price. The prices will also vary by area and shop. Kawasaki wanted $700. I'd be afraid to ask now.
I have mentioned trying a starter shop with the Mitsubishi numbers several times both here and the Wyzards forum to folks with alternator problems. Jeff Barnhill
Jeff,
I had my alternator replaced under warranty about 7 months ago and it was $900 for the alternator! Out of warranty now, so I hope it holds up.-Jon
Also, I had success with two rebuilds from Mr. Olivas at A&M Alternator Svc , 2419 Jackson St. Phoenix, AZ 85034 in 2012.

Do other models use the same alternator?

I also used that rebuild shop in Phoenix about two years ago. It was $130.00 and I have had no problems since.

Re: Is it made of Gold??
A properly rebuilt alternator means they replaced the electrical slip rings, shoes and possibly bearings also, replaced winding if required, should be as good as new. Thanks for letting me know a cost effective route.Bob in Tucson wrote:I also used that rebuild shop in Phoenix about two years ago. It was $130.00 and I have had no problems since.
