When my bike sits, it seems the starter switch does not want to engage. It will take numerous, around 3-5 tries to get the starter to kick on. Only happens when the bike sits for 3 days or so. After the first start, no problems. It will start with just a tap of the button. Battery voltage is strong. Clutch is pulled in while on its center stand with the side stand up.
Do the starter switches go bad?
Can I remove it and clean it?
Does anyone else have or had this problem?

Just a reminder that rally registration closes on May 9 so that we can place our t-shirt order for the rally.
If you are coming, but have not sent in your registration, do it TODAY or TOMORROW!
After that, we will not accept any orders for t-shirts. We order a few extra of the most common sizes for the rally. You can only get what is available.
Have you all made your hotel reservations? If not, do it NOW! If our blocked rooms are full at Laquinta Inn, you'll have to find other lodging.

Dan you live in a SALTY area lol!! Think "CORROSION" First thing to do is go over all your switches with a good spray contact cleaner. Plastic safe one!! clutch switch, kickstand switch, brake switches, and starter switch, and kill switch, and maybe if you find the bad one or ones, clean them up or replace and the most important ones are the battery terminals and starter solenoid connections. also all the wire end connections to all of the above switches. FLA salt air and sunshine ain't free!!!
