Question for those that have installed Marvella's passenger footpegs

Trying to install a set of Marvella's passenger footpegs on a '90 XII...Did you guys have to drill out the shaft piece that the passenger floorboard swivels on?

The reason I ask is that the shaft on the bracket seems a little wide and won't slide in.

If you mean the ( DIAMETER ) IS a bit larger as to not allow the shaft to begin to enter , Then the answer is yes. Use whatever you have to sand or grind end.

TY ekap. My initial thought was to drill out the piece they slide into, but wound up grinding the shaft. Very allergic to spending $175 on a chrome accessory only to have to grind on it to make it work...But if it makes the s/o happy, I'm happy.

This is a common problem in machining, when turning such a long cut without using a center in the end and the tail stock with a live center. One would need to first turn down an inch or so to the required diameter then work you way toward the final length of the shaft your turning.

I installed a set a few years ago and was actually a good fit and slid right through. I have not heard of this being a problem before.

I lucked out, as well. Mine fit easily. Work great, too! Wishing you the best of luck with your install. They really do make a big difference: wife and I swap positions on long rides, about every two hours. They work for me, making it much more bearable, on the back. Wife states the same. Worth the money and efforts, in our opinions. Cheers!
